    'EaP PLUS' – New Horizon 2020 Project with Eastern Partnership Countries kicks-off in Athens

    'EaP PLUS' (STI International Cooperation Network for Eastern Partnership Countries – PLUS), a new coordination and support action (CSA) funded under Horizon 2020 has been launched on 1 September 2016. The 17 partners will convene a kick-off meeting on 26 September. The new project aims to stimulate cooperation between Eastern Partnership countries and EU Member States, and enhance the participation of the EaP countries in Horizon 2020. Building on the results of the predecessor project 'IncoNet EaP', EaP PLUS seeks to eliminate remaining obstacles to EU-EaP STI cooperation through a number of innovative and targeted actions

    Conference and Training 'Associated to Horizon 2020: What’s next?'

    A few months after the association of Armenia and Georia to Horizon 2020, the IncoNet EaP project organises this event in Tbilisi, Georgia on 7-8 November 2016 and in Yerevan, Armenia on 10-11 November 2016. Expected participants include, among others, policy makers from both countries, EU representatives, NCPs, heads and multipliers of research institutes and unicersities, and industry representatives. They will talk about association support measures, dicuss the outcome of the Policy Mix Peer Reviews conducted in both countries and share experience gained from past associations to the EU framework Programmes.

    Seminar on Policy Mix Peer Review of the Georgian STI System

    On 15-19 August 2016, the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (SRNSF) organised a seminar dedicated to the document 'Policy Mix Peer Review of the Georgian STI System'. The aim of the seminar was to discuss international experts’ recommendations and develop a bottom-up draft action plan with relation to the key messages provided in the PMPR document.

    Workshop on 'Identifying and Engaging the Scientific Diaspora from EaP Countries'

    The IncoNet EaP project conducted a mapping study on the scientific disapora from Eastern Partnership countries, which was presented and discussed in a workshop on 30th June/ 1st July in Vienna, Austria. The key questions of the study were: How to get access to the scientific diaspora from EaP countries? How to make use of the scientific diaspora from EaP countries to increase the STI cooperation between EU and EaP countries?

    Webinar with Coordinators of Projects supported by the IncoNet EaP/CA Twinning Grants

    The IncoNet EaP and IncoNet CA projects jointly organised two calls for twinning grants. A third call – targeting the Eastern Partnership region – has been pre-announced for September 2016. The main objective of the twinning instrument is to increase the participation of Eastern Partnership and Central Asian countries in EU calls. In order to evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of this funding instrument, the DLR Project Management Agency organised a short webinar session with coordinators of projects supported by the twinning grants on 27 July 2016.

    Summer School on 'Energy Efficiency: International Project Management – from Theory to Practice' held in Vienna

    The IncoNet Eap Summer School on 'Energy Efficiency: International Project Management – from Theory to Practice' was held between 13-17 June 2016 in Vienna under the co-organisation of ZSI and TUBITAK. 24 participants, with academic, NGO, and private sector backgrounds, attended the summer school. They came from 18 different countries, the majority of them from the Eastern Partnership region.

    IncoNet EaP Targeted Call for EU-Eastern Partnership Twinning Teams – apply now!

    This targeted call has opened on 1 September 2016 and will close on 30 September 2016. The main goal of the call 'EU-EaP Twinning Grants' is to identify EU and Eastern Partnership cooperation teams and to support the preparation for proposals of open and upcoming calls of the Horizon 2020 Work Programmes focusing on the three societal challenges: 'Climate Change', 'Health' and 'Energy'. The duration of the twinning projects is 15 October to 30 November 2016. The grants will be paid in lump sums of 2,000 Euro for each twinning project.

    Horizon 2020 Training for Eastern Partnership Energy Experts at the Energy Networking4Innovation Brokerage Event – apply now!

    This grant scheme financially supports the participation of local researchers from Eastern Partnership countries in a Horizon 2020 training and brokerage event in Bratislava, Slovakia on 29-30 November 2016. Networking4Innovation is organised by Danube-INCO.NET and the Enterprise Europe Network on 30 November. The training on 29 November will be conducted back-to-back with the Energy Networking4Innovation Brokerage Event (a side event to the SET Plan Conference 2016). Maximum funding per grant is 1,500 EUR.

    Grant Scheme to facilitate the participation of Eastern Partnership countries in EU Brokerage Events – apply now!

    This grant scheme financially supports the participation of local researchers from Eastern Partnership countries in brokerage events related to Horizon2020 in the EU Members States or Associated Countries. The thematic priorities of the call are the three Societal Challenges targeted by the projects, namely 'Health', 'Energy' and 'Climate Change'. Maximum funding per grant is 1,500 EUR.
